Psychiatric Survivors Are Speaking Up:
The Harm from Psychiatric Diagnosis and A Start on Solutions

Paula J. Caplan, Ph.D.

Paula J. Caplan will discuss her insider's view of the current version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and the dangers of focusing so much on the upcoming edition that (1) we fail to try to stop the harm that on a daily basis is being done to people through use of that current edition and (2) we neglect to recognize that we can take steps now to hold accountable those most responsible for the harm and to try to ensure that past harm will be redressed and future harm prevented. The presentation will include performance of an excerpt from the play, CALL ME CRAZY.
