National Association for Rights Protection and Advocacy
In this keynote, Judge Glen will discuss the changing societal views of incapacity and the law's responses. She will also describe how the disability rights movement has helped to transform notions of disability to reflect more of a social model of disability, to which inclusion, choice and equal opportunity are central, the role of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in this transformation, and how the law concerning guardianship and capacity should respond to reflect these modern understandings.
