Arthur Baer, J.D.

Arthur Baer is Principal Attorney with the Special Litigation and Appeals Unit (SLAU) of Mental Hygiene Legal Service (MHLS)* in New York. He has been an advocate for the poor and disenfranchised for over twenty years. At SLAU he works to protect the rights of those facing deprivations of liberty, and to remedy poor conditions of in-patient confinement through litigation at the trial and appellate levels. He has wide ranging litigation and advocacy experience. He holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School, a M.U.P. from the University of Michigan, and a B.A. from the SUNY Buffalo.
