Aaryce Hayes, LCSW

Aaryce Hayes has worked professionally with individuals diagnosed or labeled as having a mental illness since 1974.  Her experience with direct casework includes 13 years as a caseworker at a state hospital, and two years as a Client Abuse Investigator and Rights Protection Officer of the Central Office of Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation (TDMHMR).  These experiences involved supporting residents at state hospitals, clients of community mental health and mental retardation centers, and residents of private hospitals.  Ms. Hayes worked as a policy specialist for Disability Rights Texas, the Protection and Advocacy System in Texas, from 1990 to  August of 2008, focusing on systemic advocacy in the area of mental health, rights and abuse and neglect , including issues related to the use of restraint and seclusion.  Ms Hayes currently works with The Mandt System, Inc.  Ms. Hayes has also benefited from personal experience as an advocate for a sibling and parent both diagnosed with a mental illness.  She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
