Steven Periard is a self-identified consumer/survivor/ex-patient who has been working in mental health peer support initiatives for the past 8 years. He was project director for National Artists for Mental Health where he created and edited The North River Journal, an arts and education newspaper that published works from artists and writers in the c/s/x community. He is currently director of the C/S/X Oral History Project where he assists in collecting and preserving the experiences of his peers in the mental health system.
