Margo McMahonMargo E. McMahon, Ed.D. is currently a Mental Health Recovery Specialist in the Office of Consumer Affairs and the former Human Rights Co-Coordinator for the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health Western MA Area Office. She first became interested in developing and utilizing WRAP after attending a training led by Mary Ellen Copeland at the Boston University Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation in 2000. With Cheryl Stevens, M.D., she has implemented a WRAP Train-the Trainer Initiative in Western Massachusetts for the last three years, after attending the intensive WRAP training in VT. Dr. McMahon, who is herself in recovery, has worked as a practitioner, manager, advocate, educator and consultant in the mental health field for over 20 years. She has provided consultation and training locally and nationally on human rights and mental health, trauma & addictions recovery. Her WRAP work reinforces the importance of consumer/survivor/ex-patients and mental health professionals working in collaboration. |
