Pat RisserPat Risser, a past NARPA President, has been a human rights activist and mental health advocate for over 25 years. He has developed self-help groups, built and directed a statewide consumer/survivor network, and directed a patients' rights program. His specialties are recovery, trauma issues and employment. Pat developed a successful recovery program to train consumer/survivors in successful community living skills and to work as employees in the public mental health system. From this work, he developed the Crisis Recovery Individual Support Plan (CRISP) model of recovery. He has provided training, consultation and workshops across the country to consumer/ survivors, mental health professionals, advocates, family members, administrators, researchers and others.
