The workshop will examine the systemic failures of the mental health system that let to the tragic death of Mr. Mejia Poot in April of 2001. Jose Santos Victor Mejia Poot was shot to death by police while he was an involuntary psychiatric patient at Pacific Gateway Hospital in Portland.
