A Legislative Success Tale: Successful Change of Mental Health Policy and Law

This session will focus on achieving positive changes in mental health policy and law. The presenter will share his personal experience participating in successful changes in Texas. Issues to be discussed include different levels of necessity, the need to understand the system you are working in, and basic principles such as very hard work, grassroots outreach, making no assumptions, eternal vigilance, and effective communication.
