Nancy Svirida is a Staff Attorney with the Massachusetts Disability Law Center advocating for the rights of people with disabilities in Massachusetts. Prior to joining the staff of The Disability Law Center, she represented the defendants, New York Health and Hospital Corporation, in a lawsuit brought by Robert Lee Marion after his confinement and forced drugging at Bellevue Hospital. Nancy graduated cum laude from Hamilton College in 1997 with a double major in Economics and Communication Studies. She worked a Corporate Law Legal Assistant at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, NY. She then attended George Washington Univeristy Law School. During law school, Nancy interned for the Civil Torts Civil Litigation Unit of the U.S. Dept. of Justice and the New York City Law Department, Office of the Corporation Counsel. Upon graduating in 2001, she returned to the NYC Law Department in the General Litigation Division where she worked for next four years. Nancy and her husband moved to Massachusetts in June 2005.
